The Walsh Group Oracle Application Administrator in Chicago, Illinois

Overview

Walsh is currently seeking an Oracle Application Administrator to join our Information Technology team in Chicago, IL.

The Oracle Application Administrator will provide oversight and management for the overall health of the Oracle Middleware components supporting the company's ERP software. The Middleware components include Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Identity Management, and Oracle Access Manager. As part of the Information Technology team, the Oracle Application Administrator will design, implement, and utilize real time monitoring tools and proactive analysis to measure and ensure application integrity and security. Through thoughtful planning, the Oracle Application Administrator will apply software patches to address known vulnerabilities to stay current.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor application and ensure the applications are operating and performing well

  • Understand the application patch road map to best plan and implement the application patches

  • Understand the application road map to best plan for and perform major version upgrades

  • Promptly respond to application outages to restore operation for the organization

  • Work together within other branches of the IT department and departments within the company to plan for shared resources and consider other corporate needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience performing and supporting technology efforts

  • Minimum 3 years' experience supporting and operating Oracle Middleware software
