Hold a Power of Attorney for Travelers and work within the authority limits of AEW Insurance Agency, LLC. This includes exercising discretion over surety execution for projects entertained by the company, including the ability to execute, approve, and bind surety bonds, performance and payment bonds, surety authority letters, and consents, etc., on behalf of Travelers/Walsh for security of up to $70MM.
Secure and maintain an insurance license, as required for the authority (POA) from Travelers
Understand the corporate underwriting process and be able to explain contract language to employees outside of the Risk Management Department.
Provides general administrative support to two attorneys as well as other department heads; duties may include following: 1) Data entry and reporting, 2) Processing invoices, check requests or other departmental paperwork, 3) Maintenance of SharePoint sites and/or a document library; 4) Tracking department certifications and other administrative duties as assigned
Maintains office efficiency by organizing meetings and correspondence such as phone calls, emails, mail and other deliverables. Opens and screens incoming mail and distributes to appropriate team member. May act as first point of contact with internal and external (e.g., clients, vendors, press, job candidates, etc.) sources.
Coordinates meetings, assists with travel arrangements and hotel accommodations as needed, gifts or awards purchase, and food and drink services.
Handle expense reports for various Risk Management Department
Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Strong computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong follow up skills with solid time management skills; work well with time constraints, multiple priorities and deadlines
