The Walsh Group Concrete Superintendent in Columbus, Ohio


Walsh is currently seeking a Concrete Superintendent for the Columbus, Ohio area.

  • Coordinates subcontracts, drawings, and specifications to ensure conformity

  • Carries out inspections as needed

  • Responsible for daily planning, creation and maintenance of project schedules, including subcontractor specialty schedules and short interval schedules

  • Supervises and organizes workers; ensures workers are available and fully qualified to perform assigned duties

  • Schedules crews according to available work packages for the project and all required equipment and materials necessary to complete tasks. Monitors timely delivery of necessary materials to assure continued productivity

  • Responsible for controlling costs, adhering to budgets and managing equipment-related expenses. Ensures staff is aware of production rates for assigned items of work

  • Conducts regular safety meetings; maintains a safe work environment with the goal of keeping accidents and injuries to a minimum and complying with company and regulatory safety procedures. Complies with EPA requirements for hazardous materials

  • Assists project management team ensuring compliance with the legal and regulatory requirements of the city, state and federal government applicable to the project

  • Participates in the development and implementation of appropriate portions of the jobsite quality, safety and production plans; ensures maintenance of all records in accordance with project standards


  • High School diploma; Civil engineering or construction management preferred

  • 10 - 15 years of construction management experience

  • Excel/Word skills, Primavera scheduling program, CMiC experience desires

  • Self-motivated

  • Strong follow up skills

  • Establishing relationships

  • Leadership, communication and decision making skills

  • Self-riser formwork and concrete self-perform experience required

  • Working in the Columbus, Ohio area.

  • Union carpenter preferred.

  • Can bring own crew preferred.

  • Ability to transport under 50 pounds.
