The Walsh Group Proposal/Estimating Coordinator in Concord, California

Overview

Walsh is currently seeking a Proposal/Estimating Coordinator to join our California Water Group.

Walsh's Proposal/Estimating Coordinator will support our pursuit teams in the writing and productionof compelling communications that resonate with our targeted audiences, to enable Walsh’s California Water Sector Business Group to win new business and establish/support our brand identity in the market.

As a member of Walsh’s Estimate team, the Proposal/Estimating Coordinator will need to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where clear and precise communication is critical to the continued growth of the business. As a Proposal/Estimating Coordinator , you will be on the front lines of this endeavor, helping to secure the new business projects. Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, format, and produce content for all of Walsh’s marketing and communications initiatives

  • Lead design conception, development, and layout of content for client proposals, marketing collateral, templates, and other corporate communications (notices, newsletters, etc..) based on prescribed goals

  • Review and analyze client solicitations to develop schedule of deliverables for production of proposals and statements of qualifications

  • Direct and assist other staff and project partners to provide the necessary data/information to accurately respond to the requirements of the communications assignment, including establishment and adherence to themes, key messaging and strategy

  • Coordinate and create outputs (printing, assembly, exporting) in production of marketing and communications material.

  • Manage strong working relationships with staff and our design partners to ensure proposal input is accurate, compelling, and timely

  • Develop internal communications and newsletters and communications of varying formats (project wins, new initiatives, charity and community events)

  • Manage electronic proposal files, including network database and SharePoint files, and ensure file closeout procedures are followed

  • Translate company information, data, and statistics into illustrative graphic representations and into marketable information

  • Build and maintain an organized database of communications materials and proposal content

  • Create persuasive presentations using such programs as PowerPoint, Prezi, etc.

  • Review and analyze all current communications processes and material for continuous improvement and innovation opportunities

  • Assist in gathering, tracking and reporting on market intelligence

  • General office and administrative tasks, as required

  • Update and maintain customer relationship management (CRM) database

  • Assist Estimating team with bid proposals and Qualification requirements

  • Prepares bid closing package and assist with bid submission

  • Manage bid solicitation correspondence on multiple large project pursuits simultaneously

  • Manage M/W/BE subcontractors, vendor relationships, and correspondence

  • Prepares Good Faith Effort and outreach efforts

  • Initiates Subcontractor solicitations and quality discussions with the subcontractors to gain detailed knowledge of portion of a project

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communication Public Relations or related field

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in Communications, Marketing and/or Proposal development.

  • Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (lnDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and oral).

  • Some experience in writing technical proposals, as well as general proposal writing skills.

  • Expert at visualization, layout, and/or graphic design skills to facilitate appealing and effective communication.

  • Strong writing and editing skills (including grammar and punctuation).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and excellent proofreading abilities.

  • Ability to multi-task, be proactive, work independently or in a team setting and establish priorities.

  • Efficiently work under pressure in a dynamic deadline-driven environment
