The Walsh Group Construction Assistant Project Manager in Los Angeles, California

Overview

Walsh is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a role near LAX in Los Angeles, California to help close-out one of the largest infrastructure projects in Southern California. This project will have a lasting effect on transit in Los Angeles and greatly improve the mobility for millions of residents and visitors. As we close-out this project, we’re seeking Assistant Project Managers who can help us finish strong while learning the Walsh way before moving with Walsh to the next exciting project.

Responsibilities

Generally, at Walsh an Assistant Project Manager’s responsibilities include:

  • Project planning, scheduling and coordination

  • Safety and quality control management

  • Accurate forecasting and management of budgets

  • Change order management

  • Managing critical subcontractors

  • Manage Project Engineers

  • Resolution of problems involving labor disputes, material delivery and contract administration

  • Maintain vehicle, equipment, and tools management

Specifically on this Project, the Assistant Project Manager’s responsibility will be heavily focused on close-out, and the punch list and change order work associated with that.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management

  • 4years of construction management experience

  • Patiently persistent

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Ability to prioritize and manage time

  • Ability to establish relationships and lead people

  • Self-motivated

  • Critical thinking and decision making skills
