The Walsh Group Assistant Construction Technology Manager in Seattle, Washington


Walsh is currently seeking an Assistant Construction Technology (BIM/VDC) Manager for our National Building Division in Seattle, Washington.

The Assistant Construction Technology (BIM/VDC) Manager is responsible for assisting project teams in the implementation of Building Information Models, Virtual Design, and Construction methodologies. They are knowledgeable about the latest approaches in the field and drive the implementation of these technologies on large scale construction projects. The successful candidate must have solid and demonstrated knowledge in construction methods and practices as well as Virtual Design and Construction systems.

  • Model existing conditions and provide site analysis and site utilization models.

  • Understand, promote, and implement Virtual Design and Construction processes and technologies in the Walsh Group.

  • Educate Walsh Group project teams and clients about the benefits of Virtual Design and Construction.

  • Document work process as it relates to enhancing and/or changing current company process standards.

  • Work with Project Teams to develop and implement Building Information Models and Virtual Design and Construction methodologies.

  • Run interferences detection to detect design clashes to assist project team with coordination process.

  • Collect and process various 2D documentation and 3D models for design reviews and coordination.

  • Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in the development and management of the virtual construction schedule and phase planning (4D).

  • Work on-site to update the models to reflect as-built conditions.

  • Assist the project team with model visualizations.

  • Support marketing proposal efforts by contributing both written and graphic information to effectively communicate internally and externally the firm's abilities in BIM/VDC.

  • Support preconstruction estimating efforts. Fully capable of estimating self-performed work.

  • Provide point of contact for construction team members on VDC processes and reports during all phases of construction.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related professionalexperience.

  • Minimum of four years related experience required, commercial experience preferred.

  • Minimum one year of construction field experience required.

  • High level of competency with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu.

  • Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, Tekla, Synchro, Assemble, Autodesk BIM 360, SharePoint, Google Earth Pro, and Adobe Suite, MEP coordination process, scheduling, facility management.

  • Some light travel required.
