Job Purpose :

In collaboration with Project Management, this role is responsible for directly supervising in-house and subcontractor teams with a focus on wastewater treatment operations. Key duties include managing performance and scheduling to ensure timely completion of project tasks, evaluating work based on condition assessments, MRP, and key element inspections, and assigning tasks accordingly. The role involves guiding, supervising, and coordinating subcontracted work to align with project objectives, contract specifications, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, it ensures that all work meets industry standards and contract specifications, inputs data into the computerized maintenance management system to track progress and compliance, and addresses stakeholder expectations to ensure satisfaction, particularly regarding wastewater treatment operations.

Major Responsibilities:

  • 1) Coordinates subcontracts, drawings, and specifications to ensure conformity. Examines drawings and specifications for various work tasks and ensures current information is passed down to front line supervision and trades personnel. Carries out inspections as needed.

  • 2) Responsible for daily planning, creation and maintenance of project schedules, including subcontractor specialty schedules and short interval schedules. Involved in creating work plans for each specific work activity.

  • 3) Supervises and organizes workers; ensures workers are available and fully qualified to perform assigned duties. Reports on labor and materials. Schedules crews according to available work packages for the project and all required equipment and materials necessary to complete tasks. Monitors timely delivery of necessary materials to assure continued productivity.

  • 4) Responsible for controlling costs, adhering to budgets and managing equipment-related expenses. Ensures staff is aware of production rates for assigned items of work.

  • 5) Conducts regular safety meetings; maintains a safe work environment with the goal of keeping accidents and injuries to a minimum and complying with company and regulatory safety procedures. Complies with EPA requirements for hazardous materials.

  • 6) Coordinates subcontractors through a regular and disciplined series of meetings, questioning and verifying their plans and efforts, changing or augmenting as needed.

  • 7) Assists project management team ensuring compliance with the legal and regulatory requirements of the city, state and federal government applicable to the project. Alerts management to any potential concerns.

  • 8) Participates in the development and implementation of appropriate portions of the jobsite quality, safety and production plans; ensures maintenance of all records in accordance with project standards.

  • 9) Coordinates with internal staff to build professional and productive relationships with owners, architects, engineers and unions if applicable.

  • 10) Assists with Customer Service Operations (CSO) work request; communicate, plan, direct and ensure on time completion of requested work. Provide QA, input data, and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • 11) Participate in rotating “Hot Phone” on-call rotation.

  • 12) Reviews MRP and inspection results and provides recommendations to Project Engineer.

  • 13) Conduct routine condition assessments such as pavements, signs, guardrails, turf conditions, vegetation, lighting and other contract requirements. Provide analysis of work needs based on condition assessments and contract performance requirements.

  • 14) Responds to incident emergencies and coordinates work of on-site responders.
